This is a new resource and currently is limited to the Shropshire Wales border area. We hope to significantly increase this as time goes on. Please bear with us while we develop this material.

Photographic project – OPEN TO ALL
‘The Montgomery canal and its unique heritage’.
Best examples to be used for 2018 Montgomery Canal calendar. Take photographs when you want and / or join some of our activities. Further details to be posted soon. 

Easter egg quiz hunt
Life begins again on the canal. Self-guided walk (with on hand support) and Easter egg hunt. April 16th Sunday (1.30pm – 4pm); & Monday 17th (11am – 3pm). No need to book. Llanymynech Wharf

Traditional woodworking
Parents and children have fun making a traditional wooden stool. May 7th (2 – 4.00pm)

Drama, Music and the arts event
Celebrating the drama, music and performing arts along the canal corridor. Bringing together the eclectic mix of talent along the canal to celebrate at the Wharf in Llanymynech. Open to businesses, groups and community organisations to show their work / students and promote our area’s talent. Those wishing to perform/demonstrate – please contact us asap. June 4th (2 – 5pm). Only performers need to book.  DROP IN EVENT. Llanymynech Wharf.

Canal photography workshop
FREE boat trips using the Heulwen Trust boat as a mobile photography studio.
June 10th 2 – 4pm. Please book to avoid disappointment. Canal near Welshpool.

Limestone discovery walk
A walk and talk through time, walking between the canal and the Llanymynech quarry, taking you on a unique heritage journey through time. June 11th 6pm – 8pm

Canal art workshop
From field to pot. Come along (to Underhill Farm, Pant. SY10 9RB) and learn how you can process your own clay and make a pot, just starting by digging a hole in the ground!! July 23rd (2 – 4pm). Please book to avoid disappointment. www.underhillfarm.org

BIG DRAW EVENT. This is your chance to come along and join Llanymynech’s very own big draw event. Lots of space, indoors and out, for you to get creative and depict our amazing canal heritage.
